Each Way Betting

In the world of sports betting, you can actually place different kinds of bets to stay profitable. One of my favorite bets is each-way bet — or each way betting. The betting strategy works best when you are making selections on events where there are more than 2 competitors, such as horse racing or championship outright. I’ve placed each-way bets to stay profitable before, and you can use the same strategy to enjoy bigger profits and reduce the risks at the same time.

Say you are betting on Arsenal to win this year’s Premier League for £10 wager. If you want to place each-way bets, you should split the wager in half and bet on Arsenal winning the Premier League using the first £5. Place the second £5 on Arsenal finishing the Premiership for ¼ of the first bet’s odds and you are all set. In certain bookmakers, especially the ones you can easily find online, there will be an option to place each-way bets automatically. Simply tick the box labeled E/W or Each-Way when you place your bet.

The second bet will act as safety net, or risk management, for your first bet. If Arsenal wins the championship, you will win both bets. If Arsenal finishes the league in second or third place, you will still win the second bet. As long as the second bet’s odds are no less that ¼ of the first bet’s, you will still be profitable — thanks to the second bet — as long as Arsenal finishes the championship.
